Personal Experience

The Overcome! program is designed for those who suffer with overwhelming stress, anxiety; GAD, Panic Disorder, PTSD.


Even though it is taught in a group setting, this is a personal experience; there are no group activities and you will never be asked to speak publicly.


Presentations are given with visual aids, and all work is private. The utmost care and attention is given to accommodate those that are not comfortable in social situations.

Knowledge is Power

Our focus is education because the more you know about your anxiety, the more empowered you are to change it. We meet four times over eight weeks to learn about the nervous system, how to identify when it needs extra attention (self-awareness), and techniques for self-regulation.

Live sessions are taught workshop-style, blending presentation, guided practice of the techniques, and support in applying the program to your daily life for maximum personal benefit. 

 

Self-help that works for YOU

The information given in each meeting is intended to be worked through in the two weeks between sessions. A daily commitment is required to defeat anxiety – it is not a quick fix because we go to the root of the problem – programming errors in the nervous system. We sense danger when none is around – typically the residue of past experiences that are locked into a mind/body connection that continues to elicit warnings that stress our nervous systems and have debilitating symptoms. You CAN change this!

 

How it works

We provide you with a workbook, a booklet with educational support materials if you want to dig-in deeper, guided meditations, gentle movement practices, breathing exercises, and a self-regulation toolbox to help you uncover your inner power and gain control over a run away nervous system.

You will be introduced to a neurophysiological explanation of triggers, what is happening internally when triggered, and the process of reprogramming our responses to get rid of triggers. Conscious use of self-help tools are profoundly liberating when combating the debilitating effects of anxiety and feelings of being stuck.

Learn how to re-program your nervous system

More often than not, people who experience chronic dysregulation have compromised bodily awareness and a sense of being out of control of their body/mind. In the first class we jump right in to tools to “down-regulate” the fight or flight response or to “up-regulate” feelings of being shut down, and how to “turn on” the relaxation response. These are tools for managing difficult moments as we work on the long-term project of re-programing our neural networks to break triggers, regain control of our nervous system and our inner peace circuitry.


A take-home program with daily exercises and lifestyle suggestions will be handed out. The combination of the methods that we explore are very powerful. Yoga Therapy is a blend of traditional Yoga practices, Ayurveda, Alternative Medicine, and modern medical science. We will also explore nutrition, aromatherapy (unless  someone in class has EO sensitivities), acupressure, sound healing and  movement.


The more you know about anxiety and how to defeat it, the more  empowered you become to drive your own self-healing journey. Not all  methods work for everyone, but there is one or more methods that will  work for all.

Program Info & Topics

If you suffer from anxiety, whether situational or long-term chronic, this program will give you tools to uncover your inner power to heal from the inside out, and lessen the  effects that anxiety has on your mind, body, and life. The goal is to completely overcome anxiety!


Common effects of anxiety that will be addressed in this clinic:

  • Panic attacks

  • Difficulty concentrating

  • Difficulty controlling worry

  • Excess anxiety and worry that is out of proportion to the situation most of the time

  • Fear of Death or fear of illness causing death

  • Excessive sweating, palpitations, shortness of breath, and Gastrointestinal issues

  • Restlessness or feeling keyed up or “on the edge”

You don’t realize how much anxiety controls your life until you begin to defeat it. Overcoming anxiety requires a commitment of daily practice, dedication, and faith in your ability to self-heal.
